Migratory workers from cities which have high poverty Index like MP, UP, Jharkhand and Bihar have little or no means to support themselves and depend upon daily wages, living in hard and difficult situations makes life miserable for them. POVERTY HITS them the hardest and they are impacted by deprivations, such as lack of access to clean water and food. The URBAN poor remain the most vulnerable.
NEW DELHI: India has ranked 105 out of 127 countries in the 2024 Global Hunger Index released on Saturday. It is one of 42 countries categorized as “serious” in terms of the level of hunger, alongside Pakistan and Afghanistan.With a score of 27.3 in the 2024 Global Hunger Index, India has a level of hunger that is serious,” the report said.
